Lombardia, Italy
Luigi Cazzaniga has partnered with the city of Lombardia to create a vibrant public art installation. Forty balconies across this historic Italian city will feature artwork this summer, an innovative juxtaposition of traditional and modern.
Born in Milan, Cazzaniga has lived and worked in New York for the past three decades. His iconic
portraits, mostly shot in New York City, range from formal, posed, to quite intimate visions of modern
day art stars, Hollywood actors and directors, fashion designers and ingenues. Whether capturing
the glamour of a star like Laura Dern, or the powerful presence of legendary artists like Alex Katz or
Elizabeth Murray, Cazzaniga brings an honesty and emotion to portraits of American cultural icons.
